چکیده

As robot technology is progressing quickly and robots are becoming more sophisticated both in terms of their appearance as well as in terms of their capabilities, it is time to reflect on the special role of robots among other artifacts. Specifically, we argue that embodiment and autonomy are distinguishing features that will cause humans to treat robots different from computers or cars. In this paper, we reflect on some of the ethical and social implications of designing embodied autonomous robots and illustrate these reflections with ethical questions that already arise in the context of human-robot interaction experiments conducted in our lab. We conclude that it is imperative to reflect on ethical principles at this time so as to be able to integrate these ethical and social guidelines, in timely and appropriate ways, in the design of future robots.

Analysis of Multi-Robots Transportation with Multi-objective PSO Algorithm in an Artificial Capital Market

In this paper, to analyze the transport of autonomous robots, an artificial Capital market is used. Capital market is considered as a pier which loading and unloading of cargo is done. Autonomous robots load and unload from the ship to the warehouse wharf or vice versa. All the robots have the ability of transporting the loads, but depending on loads and the location of unloading (or loading) a...

On the role of emotion in biological and robotic autonomy

This paper reviews some of the differences between notions of biological and robotic autonomy, and how these differences have been reflected in discussions of embodiment, grounding and other concepts in AI and autonomous robotics. Furthermore, the relations between homeostasis, emotion and embodied cognition are discussed as well as recent proposals to model their interplay in robots, which ref...
